Admissions & Referral Information VH Charleston

Admissions

Vibra Hospital of Charleston is referral based. Patients who come for care will most likely be referred by a standard hospital - via a physician or the hospital case manager. However, referrals come to us from many different sources, including home healthcare agencies, an insurance company, a skilled nursing facility or even by a family member or patients themselves seeking to improve the level of care they may be experiencing at another facility or at home. We receive referrals from standard & acute rehabilitation facilities, all manner of traditional care units, and sometimes directly from a physician's office or an emergency room.

Coming Into Our Continuum Of Care

A referral is made by placing a call to one of our clinical liaisons, or by calling our admissions office at 843.375.4108 to request a patient evaluation. The designated clinical liaison completes an on-site evaluation and verifies insurance eligibility in the same day.  The liaison will meet with the patient and their family to discuss procedures and provide information about Vibra and to answer any questions they may have, as authorization from the insurance company is obtained.  Our team of clinicians here review the patient’s clinical assessment in preparation for the transfer to Vibra Hospital of Charleston and any equipment, service needs or special considerations are determined prior to arrival. The admissions team and our clinical liaisons are trained to ensure a seamless transfer. Please know that we never discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, age, sex, national origin, handicap or sexual orientation.

Financial Arrangements

Vibra Hospital accepts Medicare and many commercial insurance plans. Hospitalization insurance information is obtained prior to admission. The Admissions Department works closely with all insurance plans to verify coverage benefits policy limitations and obtain authorization.
For those patients covered by Medicare as their primary insurance, Part A covers a semi-private room, meals, general nursing, and other hospital services and supplies. During your stay, your care manager will work with you to keep you informed regarding co-payments, deductibles, etc.

As new contracts are regularly signed, please contact the hospital to see if a plan is covered. To learn more or to make a referral to Vibra Hospital, please contact our admissions department at 843.375.4108.
